If you're “in the know” in Miami and have a taste for wearing unique pieces that stand out from the crowd—be it vintage finds or handmade treasures from independent brands—then you’ve probably already discovered Little River Flea.
Little River Flea is known as Miami’s best community for lovers of slow fashion, handmade goods, and vintage finds. This highly curated pop-up market brings some of Miami's best indie vendors to cool locations around town every month. They were crowned “Best Flea Market” in Miami New Times’ annual Best Of Miami list in 2023.
From the Mayfair House Hotel in Coconut Grove to the Arlo Hotel in Wynwood, they keep things fresh by rotating locations. This past weekend, for the first time ever, it landed at the iconic Nikki Beach in South Beach, Miami.
Memorí at Nikki Beach: Sunglasses & Sunshine
It was the perfect opportunity for Memorí, a new sunglasses brand based in Miami, to join the Little River Flea community for this special event. After all, where better to showcase one of a kind, handmade sunglasses than to a community of people who appreciate rare finds and high-quality craftsmanship? The coveted Miami Beach location was just the cherry on top.
All Memorí sunglasses are 100% handcrafted in Italy, and the production runs are extremely limited. Some sunglasses are one of a kind, vs. some 30-40pcs were made. In either case, they are a rare find because Memorí does not do restocks. When a style sells out, that’s it. This treasure hunt experience is something the loyal members of the Little River Flea community love. At the core, this event is for people who don’t want to wear what everyone else is wearing.
Although Memori sunglasses are designed to be the best sunglasses for small faces, that doesn’t mean there isn’t overlap of people with an average sized face who look great in them. For most people, a pair of sunglasses that fit 10% smaller just means they actually fit. Most people are wearing sunglasses that are slightly too large on them.
As an independent brand, one of the most important elements of your success is the community you build—and what better way to do that than by setting up shop alongside other passionate, like-minded creators?
At this event, Memorí was in good company, surrounded by around 20 other sustainable and/or vintage reseller vendors, including the ever-popular Toots Vintage from Orlando, FL.
Despite a little rain that drove beachgoers inside, the event was a hit. In fact, the unexpected weather gave visitors even more time to browse the incredible selection of goods. Plus, with Nikki Beach’s renowned all-you-can-eat brunch happening simultaneously, the atmosphere was nothing short of vibrant. Imagine spending your Saturday morning indulging in a delicious brunch, doing some shopping at the Little River Flea, and then kicking back on a beach lounger—does it get any better than that?
